Challenge
HTB Labs was the product that launched HTB into existence. Organizations and users, needed a platform to enhance their cybersecurity teams' skills in a practical, hands-on manner, focusing on real-world vulnerabilities and threats. While few competitors existed, none came close to the level of difficulty and gamification Hack The Box offered.
Goal
The primary goal is to develop and maintain high-performing cybersecurity teams capable of defending against real-world threats. The goal includes mapping training content to recognized frameworks like MITRE ATT&CK and NIST NICE to ensure comprehensive cybersecurity preparedness. All while supplying the users with a fun, interactive environment for content that tends to be highly technical.
My Role
As the founding designer, HTB Labs was the inaugural product I undertook. Comprehensive enhancements were implemented across all facets of the product, encompassing user connectivity to our services, visualizing IP addresses as entry points, and educating beginners on the concept of establishing a foothold within a system. Subsequently, it became necessary to rebrand, and I was tasked with developing the strategic direction for the entire product suite, including its information architecture, branding, and serving as a liaison between developers and project managers.
In addition to my responsibilities in product design, I served as the Art Director, overseeing the procurement of illustrations that contributed to our overarching branding vision.
