Industry

ZACD, headquartered in Singapore, operates as an integrated asset manager in the real estate sector, offering solutions across the Asia Pacific region.

Challenge

ZACD needed to improve client engagement by providing a web-based platform for clients to view their investments and returns. They also required a proper KYC process to comply with legal standards.

The company faced inefficiencies due to manual client handling and a lack of centralized information about real estate properties.

Goal

The primary goal was to create a transparent and efficient platform for managing real estate investments, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and improving client satisfaction.

My Role

The role involved assisting ZACD's engineering team in designing a proprietary real estate fund management platform to address their operational and client service challenges.

The discovery phase revealed many opportunities. Their overall userbase was accustomed to calling consultants and being hand-held throughout the investment process. These real estate investments ranged from two to ten years which lead their team to frequently being haggled by clients about their position and therefore wasting valuable time their team could be utilizing to close new deals.

Another element that become prevalent during the interviews was the lack of material concerning the real estate properties in which they where investing in. Clients wanted to know more about the property, project pipeline and so forth.

This revealed a significant opportunity: deliver a web-based experience allowing clients to view their current assets, amount invested and their returns all in one place. This was facilitated through monthly investment reports straight into their inbox.

Within the administrators side, it was discovered that ZACD did not have a proper KYC process in place. This was concerning in the eyes of the law knowing that they could not allow any individual to invest within their properties.

A key goal of this project was to ensure that their Index fund was serving its purpose of maintaining a transparent relationship with ZACD’s accredited and trust investors, as well as efficiently automating inter-departmental operations workflow.
